In 2010, Young Thug’s rap music career started when he appeared on “She Can Go” by TruRoyal. From 2011 through 2012, Young Thug dropped the first three of I Came from Nothing, a series of mixtapes. Rap artist Gucci Mane was impressed with them and approached Young Thug.

By the next year, he’d signed him to 1017 Brick Squad Records, his label, which is an imprint of Atlantic Records. Young Thug’s first label release was 1017 Thug, his 4th mixtape overall.
