Jack Nicholson Early Life

Jack Nicholson was born as John Joseph Nicholson on the twenty second of April in the year 1937. His hometown was Neptune City, New Jersey, United States of America. Jack Nicholson’s mother was June Frances Nicholson, a showgirl who went by the stagename June Nilson.

In 1936, June married another stage performer Donald Furcillo, who went by Donald Rose, but discovered afterwards that he already had another wife. Either Donald or June’s manager, Eddie King, may have been Jack Nicholson’s father.

June, however, was only 17 when she had Jack, and so her parents agreed to raise him as their own child, with June posing as his older sister.

In 1974, researchers for Time Magazine discovered the truth and told Jack Nicholson that his June wasn’t his sister but his mother, and that the other woman he thought of as a sister, Lorraine, was actually his aunt. Both his biological mother and his grandmother (who he’d thought was his mom) were dead by then.

Before he began high school, Jack Nicholson’s family relocated to Spring Lake, New Jersey. He went to Manasquan High School where his class voted him the “Class Clown” in 1954. A troublemaker, he got detention practically every day.

Jack Nicholson signed up for the California Air National Guard in 1957. He had active duty for several months when the 1961 Berlin Crisis happened, but he was discharged in 1962 when his enlistment was finished.
