AB Quintanilla was the one who received the most attention from Selena’s fame. This is because he wrote most of Selena’s songs with her and produced some of them for her.

Abraham Quintanilla Jr., the father of these popular artists, was a musician. He was also a songwriter and a producer. Quintanilla Jr. has been active since 1957 and especially loved Tejano music.

While Quintanilla Jr. was younger, he faced many oppositions from his mom. She didn’t want him to become a musician, although music was a part of their family. Quintanilla Jr. was the first in his family to join Los Dinos. This was in 1956.

AB’s love for music was propelled by his dad, a musician, and a songwriter. He began playing the bass and guitar when he was young. This was way before he and his siblings joined Los Dinos.

Later in the 1980s, his father, Quintanilla Jr., took them to join Los Dinos, a band he had been a part of in his youthful days. Los Dinos was a rock and roll band that started as far back as 1956.

They faced many racist issues at the time, and it affected some of their albums. However, when AB and his siblings joined, the racism had subsided.

During his time with Los Dinos, he wrote some of Selena’s most successful songs. Como la Flor and No Me Queda Mas. Other albums he co-wrote with Selena were Mis primeras Grabaciones in 1984 and Alpha in 1986.

In 1987, Munequito de Trapo debuted. It was followed by “And the Winner is” that same year. Preciosa and Dulce Amor were both released in 1988. The album “Selena” followed in 1989.
